Steven J. Miller is a lighting designer with over 25 academic and professional credits. He has lit dance, opera, and theatre. Mr. Miller has multiple advanced degrees including a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Scene Design with an emphasis in Lighting Design at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and and a Master’s of Art in Theatre from the University of Missouri.

Design Philosophy

 As a lighting designer, I approach each show as a unique challenge. I provide visual interest throughout each production by changing the look of the actors, scenery, and costumes. Using the properties of light (intensity, color, movement and distribution), I accentuate the mood and provide visual information to help establish time, place, and environment. My lighting enhances each production and helps tell the story.
